That is beautiful!!!

Thank you it certainly is a beauty. :O) The roses are getting done and I have had to go around trimming and crossing fingers that they are going to produce a second flush, some will because they do but I am hoping others that are not supposed to do so as well. I love the colours :O) I pruned hard a climber that had lost all its leaves (took a leaf out of Michaellas book) not very hopeful though, it hasn't started to shoot back yet. I live in hopes :O)

That is a wonderful colour ........hope you manage another flush of flowers, it is usually quite difficult to actually kill a rose by pruning hard.

I have been out and chopped Rambling Rector today and tied in long shoots ready for next year, pity it doesn't have a second flush, the rain spoiled it this year.

Lol! My friend has sent me a picture of her two roses that I pruned hard in the winter...all the while saying exactly what Angela has written above! One of them is lush and tall, the other one is...well, dead! She'll not be happy, she likes to hang on to things well past their lifespan...plants that is...!i said..oh dear, never mind. Dig it up and plant something nicer...I can just imagine what she said to that!!

I'd have dug em both up Mum...horrible old things....really woody and not garden worthy. Still, it's not east gardening on the mouth of the Spey! You need tough plants.

Oh dear K...still you cannot win them all, I gave up hanging on to old plants, no point is there? especially when there are so many beautiful plants out there to buy!!

I think you need a tiny bit of ruthlessness to create a beautiful garden. :)
