Gunnera growing on our riverbank

Your Gunneras are magnificent Wendy!
Do they have their feet in the water or are the margins of the river quite boggy?
I live in an urban area, so keeping mine watered is a full time occupation in summer
I'd love to see some more photos of these if you have the time 8)

Hi Saavikam, they are on the river bank - although they like plenty of moisture they don't like their feet actually in the water. Unfortunately taking pictures of it is quite difficult as the riverbank slopes down the way. Will try to photo from the opposite riverbank. Have you tried putting water retaining granules (the kind sold for hanging baskets) under your plant?

amazing plants this one has been planted for about 5 years and is 7 feet high and about 10 feet across! Love the Zantedeschia (probably spelled wrong) can't seem to keep them but have just tried again thanks to some small divisions from a gardening friend
