I must get a look at this book, Wolf. I've been to the Grampians in spring and the wild flowers up there blew me away, but being a bl***y Pom, I had no idea what I was drooling over!

Hey Marguerite sorry it took so long to reply here. I've been looking through the boxes of books (we haven't unpacked everything since we moved here from Ballarat since we are renovating) for a book I knew had this in it: A Field Guide To The Grampians Flora, by Rodger Elliot, published by Algona. I spelt it wrong which would be why you had trouble I think. Here's the correct information:
Thryptomene calycia - Grampians Thryptomene
An endemic, widespread species, which forms a large, dense, spreading bush 2-3m high by 3-4m wide. It has small, aromatic leaves and masses of small white flowers with golden centers, which with maturity, deepen to dull red. Flowers from late autumn to spring.
Hope that was a help. :)
