It is funny Derek because I am not sure about it. My dad used to grow them and I never have. I have lots of others I have grown this year and loved. I don't like the huge ones....I think they are like heads on sticks. :0/
D. Rothesay could grow on me though. (if you know what I mean!!!)

Dahlias are lovely. The only one I have left is a bright orange. There used to be a fashion for the really showy ones. Now it is for compact blooms.
