Ficus carica has now 4 metres and a lot of fruits.

However, I am afraid, they won´t have time to ripen, as we already have cold nights and mornings.

Hi Katarina, you can leave any unripened fruits on the tree, and they should ripen next year, but be careful with this one, as the foliage can cause photo-dermatitis, and the sap can irritate the eyes, as you probably know it is fully hardy, Derek.

Hi, Derek,

thank you very much for a lot of information. No, I didn t know that I could leave fruits on the tree during the winter. Are you sure? We have pretty cold winters...Maybe I will try to do it with some of the fruits. I didn t know about photodermatitis and Ficus carica. Were Adam and Eve in Eden crazy? Lol.
I must have a look in Google.

Hi Katarina, I used to have a fig tree, and very few of the fruits ripened the same year, so I just left the smaller ones on for the winter, the following year they started to get larger, and they were the ones that ripened first.
Adam and Eve must have been crazy, to stay in the garden of eden all alone, with the rest of the population outside ???, Derek.
