Fascicularia bicolor - 2014

This is a bromeliad, the same family as a pineapple. Spiky succulent leaves up to three feet long, there's a small blue flower at the bottom of the red bits. For a dry position in poor, well-drained, gritty soil. This took two years to recover from the bad winter two years ago.

We split ours,as it was getting too large and it has obviously set it back.....fantastic flower when it does perform...
