Sternbergia colchiciflora - 2014

A minute bulb, probably best grown in a pot, or a raised bed (as here). Like autumn-flowering colchicums, the leaves appear in the spring, then it disappears until the flowers open when the autumn rains arrive in its native home (I have seen it growing in the wild in the Peloponnese). Full sun and well-drained soil.
