Pileostegia viburnoides - 2014 (Pileostegia viburnoides)

Evergreen climber, related to hydrangeas, for moist soil in sun or shade, reaching twenty feet (although easily controlled - this is cut back to six feet every year). It is self-clinging if well fed, so this one gets a hefty dollop of concentrated chicken manure and a couple of spadefuls of garden compost every spring.
For some reason, it is covered in flies this year.
