I am not a huge fan of abelias but have made an exception with this one for my foliage garden. While it will tolerate light shade, the variegation of the foliage is more marked in a sunny position. Grows up to three feet high and a bit wider.

They do well locally, almost too well, love the perfume.

They're so useful at this time of year. :-)

I agree, we should find room for a smaller variety perhaps?

That 'Confetti' I bought recently is a small one, Dd, and rather pretty. You might like it.

I love Abelias - I planted a new one recently when my previous plant had to come out as it was tangled up with 'that' Spiraea. In fact, I planted two - A. grandiflora and A. g. 'Confetti'. :-0)
Yours is a pretty one, Andrew.
