Wooden fence is reconstructed according to stone foundations which are still visible in some parts. Those wooden palisades were fitted into special "tracks" in large blocks of stones. It must have been huge and firm protective fence, nowadays they are able to reconstruct just part of palisades, moreover, if there is strong wind, they fall, lol.
I am sure, we need Mark here. He would reconstruct it in a month and makes Fortress :-)
