Yes it can be, but I discover a secret that works every time - wait until evening and take the pic when the sunlight is soft - you pick up all the little subtleties and striations that get "bleached out" by the harsh noon day sun. It actually works for all flowers, but you really notice the difference on white roses. Ok now you owe me 2 cents, lol

A great piccie Bathgate - I think white roses are difficult to photograph because they tend to bruise so easily... :o(
