Crocus goulimyi - 2014

Another autumn flowering crocus from the Peloponnese. It needs a sunny spot and well-drained soil. What a day to open your first flower, but at least there was sun for a short time here in balmy Bracknell. Note how three of the petals are slightly lighter than the other three.

DD - the photo was taken at lunchtime. It was not so warm this afternoon, but still not that cold, just windy.

It is not balmy here, it has changed dramatically an edge to the wind.......a nasty shock.
