Hi you might be best to wait until the trees are in leaf then take a close up photo, then members on here will be able to help identify them for you, you never know they might be ok to keep, you have a blank canvas there to create borders with some nice shrubs and perennials there are loads to choose from and hundreds of pics on here to help you choose, but you do need to know roughly what type of soil you have and growing conditions, good luck and enjoy researching, some shrubs grow to 6ft high and have flowers and can be very pretty and easy to manage, hope this helps :))
