West facing view over Killarney National Park, gresalinia hedge on fence and garden has just been levelled. Did not have time to search for the gold.

Thank you Klahanie, rugged and eye catching, is a big change as we lived in urban settings until recently. Looked at your website and you have a tremendous variety of plants in your area. Used to have a relative in Calgary whom we visited a few times. I see you have got Japonese Knotweed too, it manages to get around. Ironically here in Cork/Kerry area they were until very recently unaware of its devestating propensities and used plough it over into the soil and as it thrives when disturbed in this way, they were merely providing excellent regenerative opportuinities for it. It knows about survival so would not be surprised if it throws up some secrets one time for an enterprising scientist?
Keep well.

Hi Taurman. Thanks for visiting my webpage. I lived in Calgary for 45 years. We moved to the Island after retiring from our jobs. The Calgary weather is very unpredictable. It can snow in July or be 20 deg. on Christmas day and the town is quite windy.
The Japanese Knotweed is real problem. We dig out the root system from a large area and burned it in a barrel.
After a few days it started to sprout from the "ashes".
Terrible weed. The plant itself is quite nice when it blooms.
I learnt (through GOY here) that they are experimenting with an insect called Aphalara itadori in UK.
Enjoy your country living Tautman.
