Earlier this evening I saw the NY weather forecast on the BBC National News programme...! They reported that you were expecting 3 foot of snow - You'll have to keep us updated Paul! I'm also keeping my eyes peeled on the weather reports here, as I had hoped to go to my parents in Cambridgeshire on Wednesday, but like Bloomer has already said they are predicting bad weather here from Wednesday/Thursday...:o(

This is a very dangerous storm with heavy snow and hurricane force winds. It was relentless all day and will end sometime tomorrow. Now is the time for you ladies to prepare. Stock the pantry and prepare to be housebound for a day or two. Don't forget medications, pet food, etc. Watch for fallen power lines, downed trees, etc. We are in State-of Emergency. Be careful

Thank you Sandra, It's still very treacherous outside. The storm is still with us even now, lol. I can't get out to shovel the walk way with the driving wind and snow.

LOL Thanks, I think it's heading up to Canada. I'm not sure where it goes after that, but I hope we get a break for a while.

Apalling road conditions here, due more to icy roads, and heavy snowfall through the night.. many accidents, and at 8am,all the emergency services including the Air Ambulance were trying to reach a bad crash on one of our steep hills..We could see all the gridlocked traffic on one of our main roads, from a window..All local schools closed, and motorway exits..It is now almost midday, and just starting to flow again..We won't be venturing out anywhere, and to be honest,a lot more should have done the same,as we were warned it was coming..no point in trying to be a hero..but I feel for the persons involved..Just seen a news flash that a car had run into a house,on the steep hill, and it says a pedestrian was also caught up in it..They are trying to get the Motorways cleared,so they can get the gritters back on..Thank goodness my family are safe at home,as they were told not to try and get into work today..which was the plan anyway...take care everyone...x

I'm glad you and your family are safe. This storm was huge and some got it worse than others. We've had a few quiet days to dig out, but I hear more snow coming this weekend, but not as bad.

Hywel: Yes, this is my house, thank you

Pleased you have had some respite this past few days,Paul..it at least gives you a breathing space..We have had another bitterly cold day,but wall to wall sunshine..which has helped enormously..All the snow on the low lying areas where we are,is almost gone, and only pockets of ice here and there..Like you,it's forecast more for the weekend..we will see...take care..
