which varieties did you buy have forgotten now, most seem to increase quite rapidly how the sellers are managing to maintain the inflated prices charge is a puzzle.

I got this one Spindlestone Surprise, poculiformis which I do not yet see and Sophie North. When we went to Dr Evelyn Stevens open day I bought Little Ben, another Sophie North, Bertram Anderson and viridipace. The poculiformis is the only one yet to appear I think. The doubt is because most are not fully open due to the lack of sunshine and heat. I bought it because it is pure white with no green on it at all.
It is difficult to see the differences between the named varieties. B.Anderson seems to be a taller version of Little Ben. Given that growing conditions affect the growth it will be prudent to spend wisely.

Sheila ( spelt correct this time I hope)
There are so many different ones I don't have any of the ones you list other than Spindlestone Surprise.I looked at Sophie North last year but would not pay the asking price, Poculiformis I am not familer with so looked it up is very attractive all white.

10 out of 10 for spelling Brian. Lol, as they say in Scotland 'ye can ca me onything as lang as ye dinna ca me ower'. For those needing an English translation ' You may call me any name as long as you do not push me over'. I've been saving the pennies for Saturdays outing to Dunblane. We will see if prices have dropped any. I fancied Wendy's Gold but it was far to expensive for me. Jim Jermyn ex Edrom was our speaker on Tuesday evening at SRGC. He gave a great talk about the time he spent at Abriachan Nursery before setting up in East Lothian.

Scotsgran are yours under cover too? I love seeing the different varieties, very subtle, some of them.....

Sheila
Have met Jim several times over the years and visited Edrom when he was there, it's changed a bit since then.
I think the first person I ever swapped plants with was his predecessor at Edrom the late Alex Duguid that would have been the late 60s

Dottydaisy I try not to need to have plants in the greenhouse as we cannot actually see what is going on it from the house. I find time flies these days and the greenhouse plants tend to suffer in much the same way as my houseplants. All of my snowdrops are in the garden. Because the new ones have only been in a year I don't know yet whether they will increase quickly or not. I have decided that any new plants will go in to pond baskets before being planted as it will make it easier to take them with me if we ever move. It will also be easier to pop them in to pots if I feel they merit being shown off either as a competitive exhibit or just to share them with other members at the bulb shows at Dunblane.
Bjs I know you mentioned him to me but he was so busy catching up with people he had not seen for a while that I did not get a chance to talk to him.

These are lovely. I like the yellow look to them. The ones I bought at Dunblane last year are flowering.
