At the end of a terrace it needed to be quite a block of colour and be attractive all year...
Europs gives yellow flowers most of the year - especially if sheared back a few times. Osteospermums in a strong purple, and the drought-resistant Sanvitalia at the front, as well as box and a couple of standard Polygalas each side of the old water fountain which has a Cyperus in it. A vigorous Morning Glory twines about the Parthenocissus on the wall.
