I can't argue with that!

Have you any idea what the distinction is between the black and the white spruce? I've been looking in Wiki and I can't find much. I know the arrangement of needles is one way of identifying the difference for some conifers. Apparently there are 35 species globally. I had Serbian spruce in my town garden...they were beautiful and very fast growing.

I don't think I'd be much help to you Lori. I'm just going by the name tag on my tree when I bought it at the nursery. However, I think you are on the right track. The name has something to do with the needle orientation and length of the cones.

White or Silver Spruce would be a more appropriate name this year! ;o)
