A nice surprise on this very dreary rainy morning - I walked out back and found this lily of the valley.

Well Bjs you have educated me. The flowers looked like Convallaria so I thought it was that, even though the leaves looked a little thinner. So yes, snowflakes!

Every day names are often very confusing in the UK where the names given can be totally different In the North to that given in the south for exactly the same plant

Here, too - the south and north have entirely different vocabularies sometimes!! Except for the very common plants like roses, of course.

Lauram they are lovely especially with the rain on them, We call them snowflakes in the UK, Proper name Leucojum,
What we call lily of the valley are different again Convallaria Majalis .
