They grow well at Glendoick if I remember rightly. But O never see them offered for sale.

Kevock and Edrom nurseries sell them I am sure others do as well. I think you know these are all growing in my alpine house in troughs about the same size as the Polystyrene one and are throwing up seedlings around them but the seed I collect and sow in pans don't germinate.

That is so pretty, have seen carpets of Soldanella, growing in the alps, absolutely stunning.

Siris I have never seen them in the wild I understand the flowers can be seen before the snow has fully melted

Bjs I don't know about about them poking thro' the snow. I have seen them in August, at an altitude of about 2700 metres, although there can be patches of snow left depending on the aspect. Spring! flowering can be late in the mountains.

Brian, They obviously do seed themselves easily by the mother plant, I wonder why? Thank you for showing yours, so much easier than hiking up the mountains!
