That is a fair size,Sandra..I didn't know they were hardy..or is it just the mild winter you have had there?

I planted one last year and am wondering if I will see it this year when we come back. Seems like we had a mild winter on the Island as well. Deer ignored it last year.
This looks like you have it for few years now Sandra.??? That is a sizable clump.

hope yours has survived too..this one is about 5 years old. I grew it from seed and have a few of the dotted around the garden.

That is fresh looking. Not sure why they aren't used more.
A local pharmacy Sandra, has planted (one) Artichoke or Cardoon as landscaping..along with herbs and such. Not in a garden but as a parking lot strip planting. Nice idea.
I didn't have my camera,figures.

Just one,Sandra. It was sort of a medicinal garden? Herbs were with it.
It had that "An employee talked us into doing this" feel to it...lol
