The garden centers here entice us with new cultivars every year - "I gotta have it!" Timmy was a smart tortoise. I used to keep turtles in a kiddie pool out back. They were partial to garden slugs and beetles

Yes Paul, I agree with you - Timmy was a smart Tortoise... He went on a walk-about from the garden a couple of times... To this day we can't work out how he managed 'The Great Escape'!! No holes under the fence and the gate was always locked... Perhaps we should have renamed him Houdini...! :D

I'm sorry you lost your tortoise. That happened to me too. My neighbor was in her garden tending here collard greens when he poked his head out at her - she screamed bloody murder. I think eventually he ended up in somebody's stock pot - maybe her's!

This doesn't look like the Ice Plant I remember...! My Mum tried to grow a succulent in the garden called Ice Plant, but every Summer it was devoured by Timmy my pet Tortoise! :D
