This climber has a reputation for being on the tender side. It was planted in 2009, so went through the bad winter of 2010/11 while still a youngster. Now it's rampant and flowering prolifically.

A Crug Farm purchase. The plant they sent was HUGE and I had to make the planting hole further from the support than I would have liked, but it has done really well.

I've been thinking about growing this into the Ivy on next doors wall. They don't want to remove it so it may offer it a little extra protection?

Meanie - if you can afford the Crug Farm prices, their holbellias are grown from seed collected at altitude. It makes for hardier plants.

Good tip! I'm looking to place a Tricyrtis order anyway. I'll see if seed comes up first though as I prefer to grow everything from seed where possible.
