and the 2015 season begins!

We still had snow in Lori and I am amazed that things have caught up as well as they did considering the long winter we had here in Nova Scotia. I did loose all of the new irises I planted sadly. Will be interested to see which of the others will bloom this season.

oh that is so sad. Sorry to hear about your irises. It's amazing the progress that can be seen with only one or two days of warm temps. Things literally SPRING out of the ground! Re the chickadees ... a person can call them by whistling their song. Had a little one almost land on my head. They sit and look full of curiosity... eyeing this strange creature that is singing to them.

The tree looks a little delayed, Nancy. You had a terrible winter as we did here? How are things progressing? My Irises have just made it out of the ground and then we had 4 nights in a row of very low overnight temps. They said that Friday night it was minus 10 with the windchill, and that just as apples were in full blossom! We had no apples last year (same situation) so prayer is probably needed. Some warmth on the way apparently but that doesn't help the strawberries, blueberries and apples. PS: as I'm typing I hear "Sweeet sugar, sweet sugar, sweet sugar!" mating song. lovely little birds.
