Another combination that has established well in the shade of a mahonia - cotinus coggygria 'Golden Spirit' and smyrnium perfoliatum.

Two years ago lol.......we have had several die on us, one still going, but it is in a different part of the garden, so the soil has not been contaminated (hopefully) very disappointing.
