I enjoy all the colors and varieties. I even find the bare leaves attractive. They bring textural interest to the summer garden. I do see your point about space. I have to divide mine all the time. I have a white one called "Tranquility" that is a fragrant repeat bloomer.

I've never really been a great lover of the Flag Iris. Mainly because it takes up a fair bit of room in the border, needing the rhizomes to be kept exposed and baked in the sun... However, I saw so many different varieties in some wonderful colour planting schemes at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show last week - I may well have changed my mind about them...! ;o)
