I have only seen a couple of Butterflies in my garden so far this year ... now I know where they all are!

Shirley, I hope I didn't give you a false impression. Although I have had most of the above species in my garden this year not all of them have actually shown up thus far, for instance, the gatekeepers who in the past have been very frequent have not appeared yet this year. I'm not sure if certain butterflies appear only in a particular month/s. Haven't seen a tortoiseshell or peacock this year either, but everything else on the list we have paid us a visit.

Small blue butterfly, Shirley, have you been on the sauce by any chance? LOL.

Not at all ... the Common Blue is quite often around the South Downs area of Sussex ... the Downs are not far from my place :o)

Just kidding Shiley, I actually saw one in my garden earlier this week.
I think it's called a Silver Studded Blue.
Apparently there is going to be an invasion across the UK this summer of a species called Painted Lady, so I will keep my camera handy.

I shall have to do the same ...
