You may have seen the displays of pitcher plants at the Chelsea Flower Show and other similar events. Well some of them are hardy, and I grow three in pots around the edge of the pond. One of them is now flowering too.

Probably. I have three different ones - not sure which is which though.

Do you actually leave any of them out during the winter, or put them inside?

No, I leave them out. The are hardy to -20C.

Must ask all my queries in one go! In pot, or soil, ( that is special growing medium)?

It's in a pond planting basket - these have perforated sides to keep the soil wet with pond water. Sarracemias grow in peat bogs in the wild, and hard water spells death for them. They need a growing medium low in nutrients and I have them growing in aquatic compost (although they would be happier in peat).

Thank you Andrew for the information. Many acidic bogs in the New Forest were one can see Drosera, Venus Fly Traps growing wild.
