I think it has found its summer home. Here it can be seen from the patio and both the lounge and kitchen windows. In the winter it will take the place of the barbecue next to the small terrace between the pond and the lounge window, all being well I shall be able to watch the birds from the lounge and it will encourage them to use the nearby window feeder which I can see from the kitchen.
Now I shall have to find some plants to put in it. What would you suggest?

You have confirmed my thoughts, Kath.
I bought a cuphea the other day and have a few begonias spare (grown to replace any hanging basket failures).
For winter and spring I think I shall plant it with winter pansies, cyclamen, maybe a small grass and an assortment of dwarf bulbs.

How about filling with dwarf spring bulbs and winter pansies Xela or for now still some summer bedding colours in garden centres.
