Thanks Gg, yes I've read about the mulch I will do that, do you cut the leaves off or tie them? just putting another pic on its shot up in a week :))

I tie mine up so the crown is more protected and only give it a tidy up late spring as all the old leaves will help keep it snug as well (saves using fleece) on newly planted as your is , just make sure that no slugs in the middle when you do it also I check every few weeks to see if any have sneaked in. if I remember !
My Scorched Corn has sent up 3 flower spikes so that will be the 1st time its flowered with me so I will give you a shout see what you think , but at the moment "Bees Sunset is a stunner I will take a photo

looks promising I give my Red hot pokers a thick bark mulch in November just in case we have a bad winter
