These love the hot dog summer days.

That is strange that the dear would only eat the flowers. Your garden must be like a gourmet salad bar for them.

I inherited most of these plants Bathgate. The original owners had some electric fence (as I found pieces of it) to protect them but the owners we bought this house from were not gardeners at all...they just let the garden go wild and the deer was in seven heaven. I am more careful what I plant right now. I like to see deer around and maybe plant what they are not too fussy about. I also realized that there is less and less time spent on gardening as we get older. I still aim to make this amazing property look attractive and include the deer (and other critters) as part of its beauty .

That sounds like quite an endeavor.

I love those lilies, Bathgate - and the name! (We watched The Crimson Pirate just last week when my daughter was staying with us - it was one of her childhood favourites.)

Love these Bathgte. Wonderful colour. I think I have some too (or similar) but never see them in flower. Interestingly, deer will not eat the leaves....just flowers.
