Thanks Gg your welcome, it is a nice one and seems easy to grow, used to be called Eupatorium Chocolate then changed to Ageratina altissima Chocolate, it has small white flowers a bit later, moved it to this position earlier this year thought it might be too hot for it but its been ok so far in full sun (with our weather!) :)

Yes I'm in the west midlands Gg, its a hardy perennial it normally likes moist soil which I have in most of my garden but we have quite sandy soil in this border (enriched with manure) as it was topsoil we bought in to fill a sunken area which used to have a greenhouse by the previous owners, but I wanted to try it as it goes with the colour scheme I'm trying to achieve, have a look on Crocus website they sell it :))
