Amaryllis Bella-donna x Crinum - 'Howardii'

At last this beautiful Amaryllis x Crinum has obliged with this bunch of flowers after a long and impatient three-year wait, thinking, 'It will never flower for me.' just like its relative the Species Amaryllis which has just been sitting on my windowsill and producing nought but side-bulbs for more than eight years although I live in hope. Perhaps this year in a week or two or more likely it will see me in my grave and then perversely oblige someone who buys it for a few coppers from a charity shop. Grrrrrr.
