July 2008, the wrong time of year to move things around, i know, but my dusty millar plant had fallen over, and there was blackberry bushes and bind weed coming up, soil was cracking where it needed a good dig over, well i just could'nt leave it alone, so i bought a few new plants on ebay and in B & Q sale and gave it a revamp. and i am glad i did when i pulled out the dead dusty millar, i found a slug nest underneath - so that is where they have been hiding! lol no wonder it had fallen over the underneath was dead. luckly i had sown some seeds of the dusty millar so i replanted a couple of thoughs towards the back, i put in a coulple of different varietys of perennial phlox, moved the white scabious in from the otherside of the garden. added a moss saxifraga that came from the left hand bed. a couple of lilies from the area behind brookes old veggie bed (next in line for a make over!) and added 2 new babies bought from ebay Berkheya purpurea, and Succisella inflexa 'Frosted Pearls' and 2 rescues from B & Q Primula capitata and Lavender pinnata. a big improvement, but will have to wait a while for it to fill back out again! and it was such hard work in the heat we have had, lets just say Brookes paddling pool came in very handy after - a welcome treat!
