My new garden is a big empty space at the moment. What shall I do with it?

Wow! what a lovely blank canvas! Well, the world is your oyster Jonny! First of all, think about what you want to use your garden for. Do you have children? Pets? like entertaining? Then consider how much time you have and want to spend maintaining it. Once you've done that you'll be able to make initial plans. I would always begin at the house....that's where you're likely to want to sit. But remember to consider your aspect....where is the sun and how long does it stay there during the day. You might want to site your patio away from the house if your garden is North facing as it will be in shade most of the time. That's a very important consideration. But have fun and don't rush it! :)

Download free or subscription software application to see design examples and then plan your own garden. Don't rush to do it all in one go unless you have the financial capabilities. I haven't and so, source materials other don't want and also go to recycling centres. You are lucky to have such a big Garden. Some of us have to have allotments for space.
