Stan, as you are American, we do not drink water from wells. This is Quite expensive weekend cottage, not everyone can afford such "old times" reconstruction.
We have normal drinking water in homes...
I rememeber my sister in law from Tennessee when she arrived to visit us she had Coca-Cola bottles in one of her suitcases, lol.

With the drought...non potal water for the garden would be a great advantage. My parents once had a home here in Hayward that actually did have a well. Nothing to do a romantic painting of..just a 6" hole that went 15-20'. It was never needed or used. Oh well.
Katrina,I guess people dont realize the world is getting smaller. My brother in law once told me wife why is she sending (some product) to the Philippines "They have that there".
We could have sent money and saved!

Oh yes, that is advantage, but we have to pay also for the water from wells since last year.
