DD - planted in March 2010 at the southern end of an east facing border. Heleniums required sun and a moist soil that doesn't become waterlogged in winter. This particular variety grows to 160cms, but I give all my heleniums a Chelsea Chop which limits this one to around a metre. Early spring growth is favoured by slugs and snails. Check out http://www.helenium.net/helenium.htm for details of many varieties.
