Amy's Chamomile Plants

Amy's Chamomile Plants

Amy's Chamomile plants are enjoying another beautiful sunny day here in New York. They've adjusted well from their prior home in the UK. They've sent up a few blooms which give off a pleasing apple scent but I just want them to settle in and get through the winter.

Doing well. I love chamomile. Have some growing between the rocks.

oh that's good to hear. If they grow well in Canada, the should grow well in New York. Have you made tea? Thanks Klahanie.

Yes, I do make tea from the flowers. and I use it in other ways. I like to make little sashes (from tulle fabric) with either chamomile or lavender and dump them in the bath tub And boil some and use the water when rinsing my hair. Same as my grandma did. LOL.

I was surprised myself. Its due to the TLC of Amy when she packaged them. The big challenge will be getting through winter.

I've never grown this Paul..I hope it survives for you..could you pot some up,and keep indoors in Winter?

I suppose I can, but Klahanie is growing them up in Canada so I should be OK.

It will survive Bathgate.
We do not have freeze on Vancouver Island. We are probably zone 8 but it can be grown in zone 4-9 safely.(Google said)
Just throw some leaves on top of it in November.

The plants are looking good Paul I'm glad they've grown a little more before the winter sets in , mine survive well outside planted in the ground ,they do seed themselves with luck you may have a few more seedlings growing another year, more to make tea with :o))

Thanks Amy. They have plenty of space to grown and reseed. I'm very happy with their progress so far - and that cup of chamomile tea? That's the holy grail! I can taste it already. :)
