Why I love Autumn! Make a pie.

Hi Sandra. This was at an apple orchard we've visited in East Hampton, Long Island. They have over 20 varieties, and Bramley was one of them, but they weren't ready for harvest yet. When I make a pie, I'll use up to 3 different varieties in one pie - gives great depth of flavor.

Yes, we had lots of fun picking apples, tasting different ciders & I love those candied apples - a real treat. I'm with you on the very sweet apples.

I love to go to our cindery in spring to see their blooming orchard..... and in fall (autumn) for the wonderful display of different apples. They have a wonderful rustic restaurant with wood pizza oven (outside) and good view of the orchard.
We have 4 different old apple trees on our property and good crop on all of them this year. We will be doing lots of juicing and freezing.
I also like my apples zesty. Would love to have a piece of your pie Bathgate.

Amy, I think you beat me when it comes to pie making and that could only mean one thing; I'm coming to your house!
That sounds great Klahanie, I'm a sucker for home made pie. Do you make cider? You are lucky to have so many apple trees. I like all kinds - very nice in oatmeal with brown sugar and cinnamon. This is why Autumn is my favorite season - not missing those dog days of summer. I don't think a dog would miss them either, :)

I do not make cider Bathgate, I prefer just plain apple juice from our trees...nothing added.
I love spring time the best but fall is close second.
