Watercress.

Watercress.

I planted this watercress between the joint in the gravel liner to help the pond as an added vegetable filter, I also have this growing in the moving water on my waterfall.. on there it has tripled in size in just four weeks.

Edible WaterCress? What a good idea, that is two good pond ideas from you for plantings. Thank you Dan. Quote:- 'Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery'. Hampshire, where I live is renowned for it's watercress beds.

Thankyou!! It is edible but I've never tried it aha! Fs great for filtration and surface cover when nothing else is growing :)

Watercress is very beneficial for health, with a peppery flavour. I am going to buy some and grow it in my pond, but I believe it prefers running water and I don't run my cascade that often, although the pump is solar powered.
Ps, my OH won't eat it, but he's not too keen on greens, Men!!!

Haha! To be fair I have some In the stream but this bit is in still water and it's still doing fine, it'll really take off in the summer when it's a lot warmer :)

If I keep cutting it for eating, that will keep it in check!
