Jay

Jay

Can you see me? I'm watching you.
We havent seen the Jay so much this winter as last>he's obviously using one of the other Oaks to perch on instead of this one directly behind our garden. They are lovely colourful birds but, i must say, he looks quite fierce looking at his face close up.

He's well camouflaged! I had to zoom in on him to make him out properly. I rarely see one here. I used to see quite a few when I lived in Surrey as a child.

Yes, I think they are quite common but seldom seen in and around gardens. At my last home, I only ever saw them flying accross the road from one hedgerow to another as I drove past farmfields.

Lovely, aren't they? My mum sees them more than I do, and she's surrounded by farmland.

Yes.....they ha b around the hedgerows in the fields, mostly, I think. We are less than 100 yards from farmfields here.
