I hope you will be pleased to hear that this is a very rare plant. I entered it as an exhibit in the 'Not for competition' class at the Edinburgh SRGC show yesterday. Unfortunately there was no space left in the main hall so my plants ended up on a table in the entrance hall. One of the Judges Ger van den Beuken, who is over on a speaking tour, was very pleased to see the plant. He says it should be treasured because of its rarity. He advised propagating it from cuttings because it might not necessarily come true from seed given that Androsace are so promiscuous. He was surprised to hear we had grown these from an SRGC seedex donation. As this is your baby how do you feel about having a go at propagating it after the flowers die back? If it had been mine, grown by me, I would have asked him to look after its future. He said the compost used by you is perfect for the plant.

Thats really good You look after it as you've done so well with it.If you get any seed off,I'll have a go and see what happens.I've got a few others from your seed that seem to be ok at the moment, although a couple are also browning off.The compost is just my normal mix.2 parts JI no2, 2 parts sharp grit and one part organic matter.

Thank you ? No pressure then. It was really good to have it id'd correctly. I will see if I can find the order I sent in. I will need to check the seed numbers in the earlier years seed lists.
