Yes, magnolias are beautiful trees, unfortunately, for only a very short time in a year. This was the reason why I have resisted to buy them for many years. This one is in front of the hospital, I have bought recently Susane.

I agree Katrina Ill be honest if I had the choice again id pick something that lasts a little longer, I've had some years were all the flowers have been blown off in a matter of days from opening, but when you get a good year there is nothing to touch them hence why I still have it :)

Both of mine magnolias are still blooming. Susan is still blooming (and smell) heavily but it is not so showy anymore because it is in leaf now but it has tons of flowers. Honestly, I do not think it is any difference than flowering cherries or other ornamental trees. It helped that we had a beautiful weather the whole April.
