Here on the Vancouver Island there are more common blue lupins along the road side and tons of Scottish broom right now, unfortunately.

Sorry,I forgot to put the name to it. I think its Lupinus luteolis,the Butter Lupine. I do like that name.
It is almost a strict California native..just venturing as far north as the south of Oregon,and down the California coast to Los Angeles. Nice to see it in a drift.
