I posted the spear in winter. Its just starting to open. A very long bloom period.
The label only said "Red". It one of the larger types I've run across locally. Hardy (for the sf bay area) too. No problems since I bought it in 2008,more or less. Never covered.

I found the real name is "Highway". "Highway Beauty" is the variegated form.
