Looking great there...why the relocation?

Thanks Karen! I wanted to put it on soil...before it was on a wooden platform and it never seemed warm enough. Now I have some lovely large stones in the floor to collect the heat and store it for overnights.

Ah...yes, I see Lori. I am making a veggie patch in front of mine at the moment. Looks like you might have similar plans for the front of yours?

Fine job done there Lori. What will you be growing there this year?

Hi Sandra! I'm going to put my tomatoes and tomatillos in large containers (have two huge clay pots in the basement that I have to lug up the stairs )...why is it that every job begins with a slog? went to a community plant swap today and got the tomatillos. Never grown them before but they are excellent for salsa. worth a try. Since I have the greenhouse, I also want to try growing some peppers... it's hard to get fruit on peppers in an open garden as the growing season is too short and we sometimes don't have enough night temps in the 70's F. for them to set fruit. the greenhouse will iron out the ups and downs of temps, I hope. We'll see.
Hi Karen! My garden is finally ready to till and plant.. Climate things change on a dime here... (kinda like Scotland) and we've had a week of warm temps (It's 31 C. out there today) with little to no rain. It's very dry and I'm carrying pails from the little (almost dried up) creek. BUT... I'm seeing that some of the carrots have over-wintered successfully. I will be planting more in my new carrot bed. I'm planting onions from sets, chard and beets and I was excited to see that the grape vines have survived the winter and are leafing out nicely. Have a new bed for cucs that I intended to use for strawberries. It's not the right orientation for strawbs... need a south facing spot..will be working on that this summer. the few strawberries that I planted among my perennials have started blooming...lovely great flowers and tons of them! so I will have a small strawberry harvest this year...but Next Year! woo hooo!
