Pineapple broom (the name has recently changed from cytisus to argyrocytisus). For a poor soil in full sun, sheltered from cold winds. The type grows to 15 feet in height; this recent introduction should make 8 to 10 feet.
I planted this shrub in early March and it has rewarded me with a flower already.

Will be interested to see how your Pineapple Broom performs for you and wether it remains evergreen.
