Alstroemeria 'Aimi' - 2016

An old variety, growing two to three feet high. I've been growing it on heavy clay in part shade for over 15 years. It hasn't got much bigger than when it was planted, but flowers well every year.

Yes it is a bright splash. I've managed to get a couple more of the same variety on EBAY to make a larger clump.

We have a similar leggy Alstroemeria it spreads all over the garden despite me pulling most of it out, decided to let it go this year, will be interesting to see how much there is, all our other shorter varieties have gradually died, which is very disappointing, because they were not cheap plants!

Good going for an out of doors grown plant. Only my newly purchased plant is flowering so far. Expect it brightens a shady spot.
