Purple Splendour

Wow!

a fab-u-lous colour!

I love this one..this is my favourite Rhody, but when I tried to grow it years ago, it died. It was the only rhody that ever died in my first garden...think itmust have had weevil in its pot, but I didnt know about them then.

I've had this one for several years and found it's not the strongest grower.

I have it as well and it is also spindly but it gets everybody's attention when in bloom. Is it blooming for you now Bjs? Mine is over for sometime. I deadheaded about a week ago. All of my rhododendrons are finished for this year.

Just on its peak now but being spoilt by torrential rain in the last two days, there are a couple of late ones still to open

Andrew, seems pretty general that its a weaker one

I will have to look for later bloomers as mine all bloom April-May. Do you have any suggestion Bjs?

Klahanie - the website www.rhododendrons.com will give you some ideas. Select the option 'Best Plant by Flowering Time' - there are nearly 50 listed for May.

I was thinking more for June....will look. Thank you.
