has brown pollen but not nice if you breathe it in

Great pic... was wondering...does the pollen cause allergic reactions? I know it stains permanently...that's why the anthers are removed when you buy them as cut flowers... One of the best things about high summer is the lilies in blossom, don't you think?

Hi Lori,
Just read your comment. One night the lily did give me a sore throat as I have to pass close by to get into the greenhouse. But it was at its height of flowering then. It soon passed off. The scent is wonderful because its a large plant about 4 feet tall in a pot. I did brush up against it and my arm went yellow!
I can smell it at the other end of the garden. I agree its one of the best things.
